I ACCEPT YOUR INVITATION
Why, thank you, Dear Heart!
I do believe I will take part
In your delightful dance;
May I have this one, perchance?
I fear I have no dancing shoes
I guess my slippers will have to do
I think I still have sufficient pep
For a slow tango or a Cha Cha step.
All the friends with whom I grew –
It seems to me they’re dancing too.
Yes, let the music play on and on
So from my heart they’ll never be gone.
Ah, yes, we’ll gently step and sway
And spin and dip
… while the music still plays…
