Christmas: jingle bells and holly,
Santa Claus so round and jolly,
Cheerful songs and sparkling snow
Fragrant trees and candle glow.
Children’s eyes wide with wonder
As they survey their yearly plunder
Everyone filled with peace and love
And gentle blessings from above.
Over Iraq deadly birds soar
War ships ride at anchor off shore
For the moment we sing the hymn
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Woody: My Vietnam Veterans Chapter is going to be giving out Christmas stockings with goodies we have put together, to the sick vets in the VA hospital here in Portland OR and the VA nursing Facility in Vancouver WA (just across the river). We are playing Santa this Friday night and Saturday morning. We do this every year on Christmas.
I have put together a greeting that I would like to hand out using one of your poems that has really touched me. I have attached the handout to this e mail so you could look at it and I need your permission to use this to give to the guys. I hope you can open the attachment. It is in MS word format.
I hope you don’t mind using the poem or your pictures.
God Bless you and your family and Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

A WW II Army WAAC at the Vancouver VA hospital with a copy of the greeting Boyd Yaden made up featuring one of my poems. This lady had also been a rodeo trick rider in her younger days and is recovering from a heart valve replacement.
