9/11, OF SYMBOLS AND LIVES
On this day of remembrance, we recall the graceful
towers that reached toward the sky.
We praise and extol the virtues of those martyred souls
who perished in their flames;
I think of the Pentagon, which suffered the same fate,
and begin to wonder why
The souls lost there go largely unmentioned; surely their
loss is valued the same.
