WALKING HAND IN HAND

Hand in hand I’ve walked
Recalling memories.
Rambling down the woodland path
And past the meadow stream
Walking hand in hand
While thinking how it’s been.
In tragedy, I have lost.
Yet memories still remain
Like castle ghosts
That return each year
To fill my heart with dread and fear.
And yet since then I’ve grown
And I am growing still.
So while I walk these trails again
I’ll think of you and then
Remember how I’ve grown
As I walk hand in hand alone.
