REMEMBER LINN
And I Will Too
I thought I heard your laughter
Or was it just a dream?
Or perhaps the echoes in my mind
As I called out your name.
I caught a fleeting glimpse of you
From the corner of my eye.
Or was it just a memory
Of how you'd smile at me
And brush away the tears
As I'd begin to cry?
I needed you and need you still
Where ever you may be.
So if you hear my laughter
Or see my face within your dream,
Remember how it was back then
When we were both so young.

Author’s Note: For each of us in every base and town there was a significant other, if only temporarily, to help us through the hard times, laugh when we were happy or cry when we were sad. Linn was my friend, my companion, and the girl I left behind at Vung Tau, South Vietnam. She was Chinese and hoping to become a surgeon.
