KEEPERS OF THE DRAGON

Deep within a silo
Below some forgotten plain
There lives by day and then by night
The men who are the Gods.
They wear around their necks
The keys to peace or oblivion.
Alone in silent thought
Hoping not to hear the coded words,
Which turn the daylight into night
Or the darkness into blinding light.
The God-men of the underground
Sit silently and wait
And the whole world waits with them.
And the Dragon is released
And the God-men send their fellow man
Back to God – deceased.
