Alan L. Winters
Alan is a Vietnam Veteran who served with the US Army Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS) based in Can Tho (AB8AN) and Vung Tau (AB8AV) in 1971-72. His call sign was “Big Red”
Sadly, our friend and long time member of IWVPA passed away in 2012
Author’s Note: I have just recently had some pictures taken of me on St. Patrick’s Day. Each year for the past 15, I have offered my services as a Leprechaun at work and for the past 5 at the local hospital. This year I went to the bank after that. I pass out the gold chocolate coins and a few times have been tired enough to almost pass out.
