FRAGILE LOVE
Hold me, please, for I won't break
As fragile as I seem.
Sometimes I feel I've lived a dream,
In better times awake;
And other times await the dawn
Before the better times are gone.
Touch me now for I'm still here
And waiting for your love.
But if I cannot feel your touch
Please know you mean so very much.
And if I start to disappear,
Know how much I love you
And how much I need you near.

Author’s Note: As a result of exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War, there was a time, maybe in '98, that my legs were starting to get worse with no feelings, and there was some talk of amputation as an alternative.
