Sheila Williams ~ Singing Cloud

ANIMAL FRIENDS!

Sun rise bird song – hear them praise Creator, another day to live the way in peace with all nature.

Deer run, beaver build, otter play, watch the fun; Eagle flies so high soars out wide patrols the sky.

Red Tail Hawk, spirit friend, lend your sight to your kin; bobcat stalks the night, quiet now he is on the track.

Brother Bear catching salmon, water sparkles in the light, rainbow overhead, shining spray from the waterfall.

Possum hanging from the trees’ close your eyes you are seen, rabbits playing in the clover, honey bees hover.

Humming bird dancing in the air – see him flash from here to there; hollow tree squirrels’ lair full of nuts his winter fare.

Robin hops upon the ground, curious of every sound, chatter crow go spread the news, brother Owl is on the loose.

Sweet children of my Mother Earth crowded out, it is we who lose, cricket song, bullfrogs bellow; without these where would we be?

I love the sounds all life makes, they are my kin, I need these things to fill my days, and make my nights feel right: to hear their songs, these are the blessings in my life!
