THE LEGEND AND LIFE OF PADDY MITCHELL

Paddy Mitchell’s a man who once robbed banks
He left this mortal coil to join the devil’s ranks
Because he lived a life of crime and greed
Just like his violent partner Stephen Reid

He hailed from the streets of Ottawa’s West
For robbing the Airport he was under arrest
Fast and bold they stole the gold
As the stopwatch gang’s myths and legends unfold!

Although he lived by carrying a gun
He said he didn’t cause harm to any one?
Reid robbed a Victoria bank of lottsa dough
And he tried to kill Cpl Bill Trudeau!

Reid has coloured TV as he sits in jail
Will his new Canadian book soon go on sale?
Paddy Mitchell died in jail today
In a US jail – he said crime doesn’t pay

Paddy’s life of adventure could be a warning song
Because he said what he did was really very wrong
He didn’t want fame and he didn’t want glory
Discourage others from crime by hearing my story!

Author’s Note: Paddy Mitchell hailed from the mean streets of Ottawa’s West End where the Preston Street Gang produced a rough and tough criminal element. The putting of a gun in the face of a bank employee is traumatic and his claim of not harming anyone is false. Some of His victims still suffer from PTSD to this day. Paddy’s partner in crime, Stephen Reid, recently, here in Victoria, carried out an armed robbery, stole thousands of dollars, shot at Police nearly hitting Bill Trudeau of the VCP and then Reid took an elderly couple as hostage prior to being arrested and returned to a Canadian Jail which is really a Sunday School Picnic compared to the hard core American career criminal institution that Paddy Mitchell passed away in. In the prime of his life, Paddy Mitchell was only 64 when he left this mortal coil. His message: Crime really doesn’t pay! May he rest in peace.
