SNOW
I look out of my windows and there is snow upon the ground
The ICROSS BIKES are covered and there’s beauty all around
The white drifts on the swing set and the sandbox in the yard
Cover up grandchildren’s toys, Dick’s walking it seems hard
Sandy came to visit us just before the snow report
She heard that cousin Janie, she was feeling out of sorts
When we went to the hospital to visit cousin Jane
We found her weak, but she could speak and she was not in pain
The snow had covered up my truck and covered up my car
And Lynne could not go out because, Langford is too far
Snow here on the island is quite a different thing
When I was young the snow was fun when cutter bells would ring
Grandpa had a cutter team they pulled the cutter sleigh
The jingle of the harness bells I still hear them today
Now I am old and snow is cold and it is getting deep
There are more miles I have to walk, in snow, before I sleep
