MY JOB

Billy Willbond: My JobWeekday shifts are a pleasant time
doing crosswords making rhyme
I work with Liz and Barb and Jan
and Pam comes in to lend a hand.

Phillipa Williams, Jeet and Dave
are on patrol from day to day
when weekends come we often miss
our shift commander, Sergeant Chris.

Complaints: I get a lot of those;
thefts of gas with a garden hose
wilful damages and b & e’s,
we often get a lot of these

We get calls on the nine-one-one
that puts our people on the run.
Off they go to that MVA
with 1st responders to save the day.

Robbie Nelson, John and Art,
from the hall they all depart.
Along with Fire Chief Elvedahl
they make haste to each code 3 call

I work the radio and do the log
and talk to the public, ‘cause that’s my job.
It’s 22 years now, come this fall
that I first worked here, at the hall

I’m getting old, my beard is grey
but I still enjoy each busy day
CPIC, PIRs and all that jive
keeps me sharp – hey! – I’m still alive!!!
