HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOTHER SUPERIOR
I’ve always been proud of cousin Maggie Mick C
She is the same age this old soldier, me
She went off to Texas when she was a kid
Gave her life to the Lord! That’s what she did!
She went to the convent and dressed like a nun
I went to the Army where I marched with a gun
She dressed in a habit of the nuns of her order
I wore my battle dress to the East German border
Obedience, Chastity, Poverty – all vows Maggie swore
Whilst Billy went overseas to the peacekeeping war
You taught orphaned children in the Mexican Ghetto Schools
Teaching all of your students the bible’s golden rules!
We kept in touch a few times throughout all the years
At the deaths of our parents in those times of sad tears
Now I am retired and I’ve opened up a new door
With a Canadian Charity working for the world’s poor
Happy birthday Dear Maggie – may your dreams all come true
As I wish all the best to your family members and you
May the golden age years give you enough wealth
A long life and happiness, and continued good health!
