talk about panhandlers at de council meet
and doze tourist dollars dey are a real treat
will Victoria’s town crier do de meet an de greet?

I wish every success to our new Laureate
She’ll do a good job – on dat you can bet
With hanging baskets an legislature grounds
An horse drawn buggies making de rounds

Dare’s a lotta neat tings about which to write rhymes
Including cartoons in de Colonist Times
She’ll keep us entertained an keep us amused
As she poetically writes her municipal muse!
