AN AGING MIND IS NOT TOO KIND
There is a thing I really hate
and that’s forgetting what’s-the-date;
to go to Doctor Hurowitz or on a PK parade
did I do my end of month? Is my visa paid?
I gotta think – a painful smile
when do they fix my bleeding pile?
I got the date; I marked it down
a pain in the arse coming back from town!
I’ll never forget old what’s-his-name
and his use of the what-cha-ma call it
my memory is like a scrabble game;
what’s the word? I can’t recall it!
I got new false teeth and new eyeglasses
I can’t see girls so I don’t make passes
and to add insult to injury
as often as not, I have to pee
I have to remember: where is my hat
and where’s my keys and to feed the cat.
There’s a grey haired guy, a mirror portrait
old guys like me, they can relate!
