Kaiserslautern Polizai went to check a dead guy
Der Stinke from a haus was getting quite high
So they broke down the door and there on the floor
Found the stinke that all of the neighbours deplored

Finding no rotting corpse but a person in bed
Dirty socks and laundry was stinking instead
The politzai withdrew – ‘twas another defeat
The suspect had very, high dirty stinky feet!

Berlin (Reuters) — German police broke into an apartment fearing they would find a dead body after neighbours complained of a nasty smell escaping out onto the staircase.

But instead of a rotting corpse police found a tenant with badly smelling feet asleep in bed next to a pile of equally foul-smelling laundry, police in the south western town of Kaiserslautern said yesterday.
