REFLECTIONS
Reflections are thoughts of the men that I knew
Who died whilst wearing berets of light blue
Reflections are seen in the mirror each morn
White hair now not red, like when I was born
Reflections are stars twinkling up from below
Paratroopers see them as they waft to the snow
Reflections are thoughts about my good life
Of my children, grandchildren and my lovely wife
Reflections are the feelings when you pull the rip cord
Of your chute when it opens and your faith in the Lord
Reflections are sad thoughts, on Remembrance Day
When I bow my head low and I silently pray
