LINDA
Linda, you fell and broke your arm
Thank God there was no further harm
You watched the kids, you stayed at home
Whilst round the world your husband roamed
Standing by him through all those years
Of shooting wars and constant tears
Of worry, would he come home well
Each Mission was a family’s hell
Families, they were wrecked, of course
With many ending in divorce
The Army is not for the faint of heart
For Canada, you and Don, were oft apart
You represent each soldier’s wife
Who stood the years of constant strife
The real heroes are the soldier’s wives
Giving love and support all through their lives!

Dearest Linda,
Thank you so much for all that you have done for all of us by continuously supporting your husband, who is one of Canada’s Best Soldiers, and a man I am proud to call my friend! Don has been so very, very important to the peacekeeping veterans’ movement, plus all of the Veterans of Canada! I do not have to say how important he is to ICROSS CANADA.
You are one of my special heroes – the lady who stayed home with the children whilst her husband served Canada and fought for the status of global harmony on 14+ separate Peacekeeping Missions. What a task that was! You are the “poster lady” of what a Peacekeeping Soldier’s wife should be! Thank you for being an unsung Canadian Hero!
Sorry about your broken arm! Hope it is not too, too painful. You are in my prayers for a quick healing. Do what the Dr Says! Be well and get well my friend
