ARMED FORCES DAY, 2005
(3rd Saturday in May - May 21, 2005)

I want to take this time today
To say to all in my own way,
On this particular Armed Forces Day
Just how much I love you all in every way.

I pay tribute and honor for both old and new
From the Veterans who've passed, to the recruit.
Each one special in one same aspect true blue,
Honor, Courage, Commitment runs deep in the veins of America's few.

Today and all days stand proud and tall,
Remembering brothers and sisters who gave it their all.
We must never forget those names on the walls
Of those who stormed beaches or entered the war zones from a free fall.

Times have changed that is true
But face death, they all do.
And somehow they saw it, met it, then continued on through.
The memories run deep yet still surface brand new.

These are our heroes we must remember to say,
Thank You for the life you risked every day.
From fox holes and treetops moving forward to pay
Whatever it took to keep Freedom ours, yesterday and today.

You've faced more than most- you've seen death eye to eye,
To protect the rights and freedoms for you and I.
I thank you today and in a past that's gone by
It might not be enough but its heart felt deep inside.

Armed Forces day is really not celebrated
Even when our military's fighting in places we're so hated.
Each year I say thank you, you are all under rated
This is one thing for sure which should never be debated.

ARMED FORCES DAY, 2005
THANK YOU THAT WE'RE STILL ALIVE,
STILL FREE TO SURVIVE
AND CONTINUE TO STRIVE
