TREMBLING TOWERS
September 11, 2001

Her cloud encroaching towers once stood,
New York, raining spears of brotherhood,
Mingled with blood--her falling towers,
Crying fathers, sisters, and mothers,
Transfusing birth to death... twin brothers,
Throated thunder--screams, wailing showers.

Human missiles burning flesh to dust,
America's God--who can we trust?
Her twin towers, are her twin brothers,
From rubble falls a mother's soft hand,
With our father's love remains her band,
To dusty powder perished others.

Our heroes buried--falling thunder,
Stolen lives snuffed--pillaged and plundered,
Tasteless acts add their own condiment,
Golden eagles fly--red white and blue,
America beautiful sway true,
Falling towers stand--our monument.
