THE THUNDER ECHOES LOUDER
The clouds blew gray over my home today,
The heavens unleashed a floodgate.
Unlike the last storm I do have to say,
The hairs on my neck stood up straight.
The bright flash in the sky released by the lightning,
Did not raise my level of care.
The echoing rumble was mildly frightening,
An echo of war in the air.
Now that America's shores have been violated,
With the hate of the terrorist's dream.
The slumbering giant is about to be sated,
As we crush out the murderer's schemes.
I can't hear the storm's rumble without thinking about,
The violence soon to be unleashed.
The cowards will stumble there is not a doubt,
The swift sword of justice unsheathed.
A day to remember - their message was sent,
We know where we lay down the blame.
As long as I live my heart remains rent,
The sound of the storm's not the same.
