DON’T SAY A WORD
Sometimes the thought of goodbye
Is harder than the leaving.
Don’t say a word, I understand.
Come and lay down by my side
Bring your body close to mine
And let me love you, one more time.
I won’t leave you alone and crying.
I’ll come back from combat to be with you,
To be with you, Bonnie Sue, and Tommy Lee.
Don’t say a word. Words can’t convey
All we’re feeling between the lines
Where we’re living. Don’t say a word.
