TIRED
Lord, I am so tired.
Life here's so full of pain.
The love you wanted us to know,
Has found so little ground to gain.
We fight among ourselves,
Kill, maim, wound and hate.
All are daily pleasures,
As we move far from Heaven's Gate.
Mankind has come so very far,
Yet we have not advanced one single inch.
Just as in the beginning,
Hatred consumes us with its stench.
Too many people go hungry,
So many live in fear.
While others turn their backs
On Brothers they should hold dear.
Our wars are forever present.
The killing never stops.
I swear the insanity will not end,
Until your last man-child drops.
All wars are not with bullets,
Some are fought without.
Starvation, disease, and poverty,
Power is what it is all about.
It's all for the mighty dollar,
Or some silly political slight.
While the suffering increases tenfold,
When greed soars in its full flight.
The worst of those among us,
Say they justly kill in your very Name.
They hide behind your Glory,
To their everlasting shame.
Lord, I am so tired.
Weary to the bone.
This hatred here has no ending,
When may I come Home?
