Mike's Dad, W. E. 'Buck' Tank was a WW II Navy Veteran who served on the destroyer, U.S.S. Shubrick. Among other actions, he participated in the D-Day invasion at Utah Beach and was on "picket duty" off of Okinawa when his ship was hit by a Kamikaze in May of '45.
Mike enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1969 and served with the 1st Marines, Scout/Snipers in Viet Nam in '70-'71 in the Danang area. After a short stay with the 2nd Recon Battalion at Camp Lejeune, N.C., he was sent to Guantanamo Bay Naval Station, Cuba and served on guard duty there for fourteen months to the end my enlistment in 1972. He is now retired and lives in Gilbert, Arizona.
Mike's Son, Scott and his beautiful wife, Megan are both currently serving in the Marine Corps with the Combat Service Support Group 3 and are stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
