GAIL
Gail had hair light blond
And eyes the darkest blue
She walked barefoot in the pond
And carried her two small shoes
One day she ventured too far out
Had to swim back to shore
She even had to give a shout
To the lifeguard coming out the door
“I think I shall wait for you”
“My feet and arms are sore”
The lifeguard knew just what to do
And towed her back to shore
The lifeguard made her promise him
She would keep both feet on land
He said, “My temper has grown thin”
“Giving you a helping hand”
Now she wears her shoes on her hands
And walks out feet side up
When her eyes can’t see her hands
She’s gone far enough
