EMMA GRACE
Emma Grace entered the steeple chase
Her horse respectfully declined
She has now set the competitive pace
While her horse was wined and dined
Her horse wears chiffon and lace
While Emma’s clothes are leather lined
Her shoes are of iron and nailed in place
While her horse wears the Italian kind
On the last course of jumping high
Emma Grace lost points and time
She jumped and caught her left thigh
On a picket she should have climbed
Now her horse has a choice to make
Should Emma be given time?
To heal and try to win the stakes
Her horse wagered six quarters and a dime
Her horse may choose to destroy her
Or retire her before her time
Of one thing you can be sure
She has certainly passed her prime
