Alta drove a Cadillac
Her boyfriend drove a Rolls
She made it to the coast and back
Without wearing driving clothes

Her boyfriend didn’t own his car
He chauffeured different folks
He dropped them at the local bar
Where they told each other jokes

Alta’s driving days were done
When her Caddy quit one day
Her boyfriend said “My car’s more fun”
“Come with me to play”

Now her boyfriend drops her there
At the local bar each day
Alta teaches those folks to swear
And they gladly pay her to stay
