OBITUARIES

Too many times of late
I read in the paper each day
A veteran has passed the gate
He has ended his earthly stay

He fought in World War Two
He came home to small town USA
He brought into the world me and you
He helped forge the American way

He married and bought a car
He went to work each day
He never traveled that far
He worked till his hair was gray

It was a war to end all wars
He fought it and he won
He wore stripes and not the stars
He had his day of glory in the sun

He raised his family without fanfare
He lived life the best he could
There were those that always cared
That a veteran made life good
