ALTER EGO
I was caught sideways in a dream last night
The content of which was a total fright
The dream was yours, it wasn’t mine
You just included me for a short time
From now on though, if you must dream
Don’t include me in your brazen scheme
Without your help, I prefer my own
All of my dreams have a quieter tone
From your dreams discontent grows
And you won’t let old wounds close
I’ll stave off sleep until the dawn
Or until my dreams come and yours are gone
You need to forget the past and embrace the new
And make your dreams a harmonious view
You do your part and I’ll do mine
Together we can make our dreams temperate in time
