A NEW DAY
The struggles of our fathers
Lay heavy on our hearts
Calming turbulent waters
Hoping for a brand new start
Where is the wisdom that we seek?
What was modeled in the clay?
When our future appears so bleak
Will we invite the day to stay?
We’ll endure it day to day
We’ll suffer it hour by hour
But when our patience soon gives way
And we have renewed the power
We’ll open our skies above
We’ll vanquish the stolen calm
We’ll purge our heavy hearts with love
We’ll cleanse our spirit with a song
