SAVED CYNIC
He saved me from the person
I had become
The cold hearted broken one
The one who questions why?
Why are you nice to me?
Why have you given me?
Why are you here with me?
His eyes say it all
When I’ve had a bad day
When the pain comes
When my heart hurts
His hug clears it all away
And I feel warm inside
Like childhood used to
When he shares
He warms the part of me
That has forgotten
The belonging of this act
And makes me feel warm
In the sunshine of his love
He’s saved me this child of light
From the darkness that consumed me
And I thank God that he brought him to me
And that I made the effort to know him
For he is a great heart in a small person
And I am proud to know his love
