JUST A LITTLE OL’ TUNE
Cares of this world weigh heavily…
so heavily… upon my mind
I do look forward to the time
when all of them will be left behind
In the distance I can see
the first rays of a new dawn’s trace
and in my mind plays a tune… softly…
the name of which… I cannot place
Pristine cities of glistening crystal…
edged with fields of glowing gold
On the other side of Purgatory…
peace is promised since times of old
It is my heart that bars and guards its gate
Earthly desire… still my jailer… bides me wait…
The tune in my head continues without fuss
(‘Wait A Little Longer… Please… Jesus’)
