As I was playing in my head
and I fell down and hurt myself
I tripped over an old memory…
that for me… you had left
It was there all along
… and I knew that it was…
just as I knew that you had gone
I wish that you had told me
all of the things that were wrong
I had said ‘Mommy’s busy now…
Run and play’
and you grew up and went away
Now I am so very sad
I tripped over a memory today
and I hurt myself bad…
