Bravo old soldier, you scribe of war
Record your history evermore

Engrave it forever in black granite stone
So all will know none have died alone

This be the hour we decree it is right
Forget not the lives lost past midnight

Take your pen and in their red blood write
The names of soldiers no longer in our sight

And then declare with all of your might
The time for remembering is past midnight
