PRIDE
Pride
It’s a strange thing…
you can hear it sing
Pride
for your first smile
That was a long ago while
Pride
in your first tooth
Of your smile it was proof
Pride
in your very first baby step…
at ten months so full of pep
Pride
swells my heart…
you want to do your part
Pride
… choking back tears
for the passing years
Pride
Jeremiah… my grandson
… a soldier at twenty-one

This Poem drew the following comment:
"Excellent sentiments, my friend! We will leave our world in good hands - thank God our generation's lack of good stewardship has left something for them; I pray they do a better job than we did!"
Anthony W. Pahl – October 25, 2005
Which in turn inspired the poetic response, “Yet!” – ©Copyright October 25, 2005 by Colin F. Jones
