ON MEMORIAL DAY
There is no way to repay
The price of freedom we enjoy today
And the safety of our domain
That was bought with another’s pain
Freedom is truly not free
And I know it could not be
Not when bought with the blood of others
Proved by the graves thousands of soldiers
Lying asleep in fields of crosses
Families and friends precious losses
For the way of life that we live today
There is no way we can repay
For what they have done
No way to thank each one
So soldiers, sleep the honored sleep
We shall raise the flag and weep
Perhaps a tear falling with the dew
Will become a humble thank you
