BATTLE’S OVER… A DREAM

Is it possible, can it be real?
Soldiers have left the battlefield
I saw both sides did yield
As one body they marched away
And I thought I heard them say:

“We dream of peaceful silence
Of the roar of life subsiding
Not this turmoil of violence
And we shall go forth hence
As far as our forces can reach

… In search of peace”
