PRAY FOR PEACE

Wearing a T-shirt against a war
As his only wish was for peace
“You can wear the shirt no more”
Was told to him by their police

Is communism well and alive
Even today in the United States
When for peace we must strive
One’s been arrested to this date

Do all our soldiers fight in vain
For our freedoms we all adore
Can we speak our minds again
Did our leaders close the door

You might see me on the news
As I write what’s on my mind
What is this nation coming to
What do they fear we may find

Today I want you all to know
Only my thoughts to you I tell
Let them drag my disabled soul
If they try to throw me into cell

If I should go to jail some day
I shall never change my views
Though to the Lord I will pray
Pray for Peace for me and you
