NO BLOOD FOR OIL
We watched on our screens
Last evening with such intense
A president lay out the scene
A war that don’t make sense
Our United Nations torn apart
A destruction of peaceful tools
He insisted on this war to start
Refusing to abide by their rules
Forty-eight hours given Iraq
Leaders go or bombs will fall
Within his blood for oil attack
In a goal to watch them crawl
A line he said got my attention
In a war speech he tried to sell
In these words I felt the tension
“Do not destroy your oil wells.”
Hour by hour time passes by
His proposal rejected by Iraq
How many now will we see die
When he insists we must attack
A deadline for war is very near
But the time seems to stand still
On many faces there will be fear
As they watch their family killed
Saddam has always been a tyrant
Though ‘til he brings it to our soil
To keep peace we will be defiant
We shall insist No Blood For Oil
