They gave away the town of Hue
And under red fang then fell Da Nang
Last night I heard they were fleeing Qui Nhon
Makes one think, when will it be Saigon

Oh Vietnam Thai Binh is gone is gone
And leaving them was wrong was wrong
People so sad with life so bad

Oh people please see the futility
Of fighting for freedom half heartedly
And it is freedom that’s on the line in Nam
Your freedom as well as mamasans

Blood drenched babies and women a wailin’
Old men crying and bullets a sailin’
Peace a dream in so many a song
