So many dispersed, families ripped apart
Many were stuck and could not escape
Beatings and torture became their cruel fate

Tears for Saigon can’t stop asking why

Tears for Saigon I won’t forget
The glorious culture, the music’s in my head
And though I feel shame that we left there too soon
I know I did my part, what more I could do
