COUNTRY IN THE EAST

There is a land far in the East
It's where the Christ was born
He's the Savior don't you see?

All the politicians said we would fight for democracy
But the land is all destruction, rebels on a killing spree
The blood is running in the streets, but it's also on our hands
In the country in the East where they chose to make a stand

It's in a country in the East that they chose to make a stand
But it's not a war for peace and their blood is on our hands
Greed now rears its ugly head; it was for oil we took that stand
And shattered limbs and babies dead, ain't worth nothin' from that land

And Jesus will forgive; I know this to be true
But it has to make Him sad to see what they will do
To fill their greed and selfish needs in a war unholy as sin
And every shot and every bomb cuts deep inside His skin

There is a land in the East
It's where the Christ was born
He's the Savior don't you see?
