As I awoke, hatred soon spoke
Two broken hearted buildings
Billowing black smoke.
I was forced to watch.
Some were forced to choke
Hell was here, our burden to bear.
Terror struck. Modern day warfare

Chaos ensued. Such a sad angry mood
We’ll bring them bombs. Then water and food.
New York City, Not so rude
Remember September
Priests prayed. Leaders led.
Babies cried. Lovers wed. Mothers fed.
Planes crashed. Beggars pled. Businessmen bled
Widows cried. Enemies lied.
Soldiers trained. New York City unified

Battle drums beating. Cowards retreating,
An enemy worth defeating:
Fellow countrymen burning and bleeding;
Celebrities pleading. Presidents leading.
Soldiers heeding. New York City healing. Still Grieving

Rumsfeld and Powell, Bush and Cheney
Beautiful Bright days Suddenly Rainy
Russia, Germany, France
Stood up. They Won’t Dance. Failed Romance
Diplomacy fails. A siren wails. Desert jails
United Nations Negotiations Failed Relations
New York City, New Years Eve Celebrations

Troops deployed. Celebrities annoyed
Presidential palaces soon destroyed
Democrats worried about unemployed?
New York City, not overjoyed

Little boys, GI Joes, shouting out “Friend or Foe”!!!?
Cuts and band-aids come and go
Freedom’s worth fighting for, this I know.
He grows up. Turns 18
Freedom Fighter, Ideals pristine
Stuck in a sand storm hugging his M16
No time to think, GI Joe!!!!
An approaching Iraqi, “FRIEND OR FOE”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??
Ambushed by a coward. Taken by surprise
