HOW DO I SAY GOODBYE?

My dear friend, BettyMy friend, I wish I could make you well
I wish I didn’t have to say goodbye
I stand in silence and hold your hand
In my mind asking God why
I listen to your shallow breathing
Each time I think there will be no more
It’s so long before another one comes
I wonder what you have to suffer for
I pray for God’s angels to whisk you away
To take you to the mom you call for
Home to the place where there is no pain
Home where you will suffer no more
My life will be empty without you
But my memories will keep you alive
Someday I will join you in Heaven
Then we will know the reason why
Thank you for your friendship
Thank you for your love
We will talk again someday
In Heaven up above
