PLAIN AND SIMPLE
Dad would ask how strong I was
Did I know of my gift
That lives inside the spirit
And dictates how much we lift
It’s in the heart: he’d often say;
That’s where the choice is made
To live each day with passion
And not fear when it’s displayed
Now keep it plain and simple son
Don’t complicate the fuss
We both know what it’s like when
It gets down to them or us
He’d laugh and say that life’s too short
So live it strong and proud
And keep your love inside a place
Where hate is not allowed
