Me and God, we argue
In a spirited debate
He says that He is coming
I point out that He is late

Back and forth we talk it
In a hopeful heart exchange
I say that I don’t like this world
He says it’s ours to change

He says we take the credit
But we don’t accept the blame
This world is what we make of it
Do we not feel the shame

In His own good time He says
My patience I should keep
In due time He will be around
Shut up and go to sleep
