INDEPENDENCE DAY

The bayonet was snapped in place
Then pushed into the earth
A helmet placed upon the stock
To mark this place of worth

Freedom isn’t free
This is a thing that soldiers know
And hallowed ground, is often found
Where soldiers have to go

Upon this day of freedom
We salute the ones so true
Who stood the line with honor
For our sweet red, white, and blue
