I REMEMBER EVERY DAY

In the shadows of the darkness
In the madness of the fight
It doesn’t really matter now
Who is wrong or right

Did I see God’s face that night
Did I feel his grace
As those around me faltered, fell
In that angry place

Oh I know not why I remain
While around me brothers died
There’s guilt that lives inside of me
That with them I don’t abide

But life goes on they tell me
It’s done so let it lay
But their faces, names, and courage
I remember every day
