HERE I AM

I cannot explain myself
To those who do not know
I tried for many years
And then I finally let it go

Wearied by that funny look
That came into their eyes
When I told them what I did
With words without disguise

I don’t know just what they see
It really matters not
The madness will go on long after
We are all forgot

This is who I am and I
Don’t try to hide the scars
Though I’ve known the madness
I still seek to touch the stars
