GOD’S WHISPER

Beneath my gun I found my God
A strange place I must say
That day the battle ended
He came to whisper in my day

Sitting there so empty
Feeling hatred storm my wall
I heard His words within me
As I’d seen so many fall

Be still my son He whispered
I’m here inside you now
Don’t let your anger turn to hate
For this you can’t allow

The ways of man will always
Try to lead you to the brink
But it’s a bitter cup and from it
You should never drink

Remember child my message
And always keep it near
That love is still the answer
So cast out your hate and fear
